The Making of PumpaJack:

"When getting ready for PumpaJack videos and photos, I have a set of stage makeup and costuming.  I have a Kangol hat, wild but cool sunglasses, a sportcoat or jacket, vibrantly colored shirt, and a gold tooth.  I paint my head, neck, ears and hands with brown stage make-up and use a lip liner to define the lips, etc...  Also the headphones are often used as he is a DJ, but sometimes they are left off."  -Chris Harden

Below are shots of Chris dawning his PumpaJack duds for the photo shoot that was used on the cover of the "Don't Harp On It" album.

Photo's

P1020069.JPG (129903 bytes) A little bit of brown paint ... no ALOT of brown paint.  Chris is about as pale as a bucket of water.  (yuk yuk!)
P1020071.JPG (114665 bytes) On the hands too.  This stuff gets everywhere, as it stays slightly damp.  It gets on the guitar, harmonicas, clothes, etc...  BAD ring around the collar too.  That greay sportscoat in the bottom photo didn't make it past the shoot.
P1020074.JPG (120086 bytes) Black spray for the hair, and then white highlights for the graying sideburns.
P1020076.JPG (122008 bytes) Lip liner to darken the lips.
P1020080.JPG (122558 bytes) White highlights for the goatee as well.  Chris will grow his goatee out for a few weeks to make it long enough to paint black and then white like his hair. Notice this is just acrylic paint Chris found in his art cabinet.  You can get white hairspray like the black, but hey it works!
P1020082.JPG (121578 bytes) The ALMOST finished product.  You can't tell it in this shot, but Chris also puts on a gold tooth on his bottom teeth.
